Payment

Payment is due at the time of your session and should be made out to: Mariefrance Cote, LMFT. Please refer to Fee Policy form for more information. I keep a credit card on file. Your card will be charged for payment if you have indicated in the form Electronic Payment Authorization that is how you want to pay for your sessions. As forms of payment, I take credit cards, Venmo, Paypal, and Cash. If session payment is owed for more than one week, and you haven’t made an agreement with me on paying your bill, I will charge your card.

Monthly billing cycles are available upon request and, in this situation, payment will be due upon receipt of your invoice. It is your responsibility to pay for services rendered. If your session time runs over, you may be charged for the extra time. You will be charged a prorated fee for any out-of-office time I spend on your or your child’s case, including but not limited to: telephone calls, review of records, travel time, report writing, letter writing, or contact with other professionals/individuals/agencies regarding your case.

Cancellations and missed sessions

Your appointment is a time reserved solely for you on a weekly basis, unless arranged otherwise with me. If you are late, your session will still end at the predesignated time. If after 10 minutes from the scheduled beginning of our meeting I have not heard from you, I will try to reach you via text and/or phone call or email. If I don’t hear from you within five minutes, the session will be considered missed, and payment will apply. In the case of an unforeseeable event or sickness 48-hours’ notice is required if you need to cancel your appointment. Sessions cancelled with less than a 48-hour notice will be billed for the full fee, unless we are able to find a mutually agreeable time to reschedule in the same work week. In the case of a minor, the parent/guardian is responsible for notifying me of any cancellations. If you ask your child to cancel a future appointment and he/she forgets to do so, you will be responsible for the missed session.

Insurance and reimbursement

I will provide you with an Invoice/Statement of Services upon request. You are responsible for collecting reimbursement from your insurance provider. I am not contracted with any insurance companies, and do not interface with them.

Court-related work

Should I be involved in any legal proceedings as a result of your involvement in those proceedings, you will be charged a fee of $400 per 50-minute hour with a three hour minimum. This applies to any time I spend on the case, including but not limited to: depositions, telephone calls, review of records, travel time, photocopying, report writing, letter writing, or contact with other professionals, individuals, or entities regarding your case.
